Jordan Barrett requires no introduction. Or at least, he won’t in a few minutes. And he certainly won’t in a few months. Having just finished acing it on the menswear show circuit (closing Moschino, no less), JB is currently continuing to ace the snowglobe that is New York City – and rightly so, as there appears to be very few things left for him to ace in the Australian industry.
Aside from shooting with yours truly, of course. Which is what he did. And here we are. Something for the boys. Or the girls. Or the boys.
However you want to see it.
It’s no secret that I’ve always had a soft spot for menswear. I always end up pulling boy shirts, boy jeans and boy bomber jackets to tie up and layer in womenswear styling work. There’s just a more generous quantity of fabric and thus structural options to play with. Hell, I buy so many of my outerwear in the smallest men’s sizes possible just for their aggressively broad shoulders and delicious lack of waist (embarrassingly or serendipitously, the Viktor & Rolf blazer that fit Jordan like a damn glove in our first shot is mine from this time last year in Paris).
So it seems natural to be finally shooting and styling boys – and Jordan is as natural as they come. We smashed the whole shoot in a couple of hours, purely accredited to JB’s easy movement, knowledge of light, and responsiveness to instruction. Jordan, try Paolo Roversi studio life contemplation vibe. Jordan, just repeat that throwing on your jacket as you’re getting out of the car kind of movement.
Nailed it every time.
